Action Peru Treks
via Tripadvisor
I'm a nerd. I made my spreadsheet of the top 20 tour companies on TripAdvisor for our Salcantay trek to Machu Picchu. The trip was for my 16yo son and me. When I saw "zipline" in the description for Action Peru Treks' trip, I immediately contacted them. From the first communication to the airport drop-off after our trip, the Action Peru Treks team was on top of every detail of our trip. The founder of Action Peru Treks is a fantastic guide named Roxner who has worked hard for years to become a great guide and to build a business based on his experience of what works best for a fantastic experience, from how far to hike to where to stay to what to eat. The hike itself was fantastic. We were challenged at times but always able to make it. The Andes are so beautiful! The people along the way are hard-working and kind. The food from Action Peru Treks was plentiful and varied. The tents and sleeping bags are all new and high quality. Action Peru Treks provided a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Give them the opportunity to win your business. They will amaze you. A word about price: You get what you pay for. You can go for under $500/person. You'll likely end up with a less experienced guide, lower quality hotels, less and lower quality food, and add-on fees, such as to climb Huayanapicchu. If you just paid $1500-$2000 for the airfare, don't go cheap on the guide company.
