I was fortunate to find Ian Taylor Trekking and climbed with Ian in Ecuador, Nepal and most recently at Aconcagua. Words alone cannot possibly capture how great the experience was. Based on that great experience, I'm planning to only use Ian Taylor Trekking for all my climbs. Ian is a highly gifted guide and great person. Laura runs the office / operations -and they make a great team. She is highly responsive and a joy to work with. I've climbed with the best guides - and they are truly world class! Ian and Laura have assembled highly effective teams who have decades of experience. They are not only gifted guides, but really, really wonderful people. I'm grateful to have discovered Ian Taylor Trekking and I'm looking forward to my next climb with them. Craig W. Medlyn

I've been sitting on this review for the past week, as I've been processing some post-trip depression. The reason for this depression is due to the quality of connection and experiences had with Ian Taylor & struggles readjusting back to "normal life" My first trek with Ian was with my dad & brother on Kilimanjaro, last summer. I had a similar feeling following that trek, which is why my dad and I decided to book another trip this year (Cayambe/Chimborazo). Every detail of this trek was executed with meticulous detail, so much so that it was hard figuring out how they do this with such consistency. The secret (or my best guess)? Their team has 20+ years of experience, and are constantly iterating to one up themselves. This expertise is not only in logistics, but also in mountaineering. I've been climbing mountains in Colorado for years, and Ian has taken my love for mountaineering to new heights (pun intended). After seeing the level of safety and attention to detail put into the technical aspects of these climbs, I am not going to do any other big treks with anyone else (looking at you, Aconcagua...) Thank you, Ian & Laura for living with intentionality and for putting in the work to give me experiences that I will never forget.

Have taken four treks/climbs with Ian Taylor - EBC, Kilimanjaro, Ecuador and most recently, Aconcagua. Fantastic service and great staff on both trips. Will continue to book future adventure travel with Ian Taylor!

Recently we summit Mont Elbrus in Russia. The expendition was very challenging due the strong winds, recent snow and bad weather in general. We all get the summit early in the morning thanks to Ian Taylor and his staff guidance and leadership. This is my 4th trip with Ian Taylor Trekking and the 5th (Aconcagua) is coming soon, next february. If I want to climb a mountain what ever it is will be with Ian Taylor Trekking, because in the high altitude montains "goal number one is safety", summit is number two and Ian Taylor Trekking goal is have all of us back home. Form me, this is much more important than food or confort, safety is my priority and they have all my confident because in all the trips they take care of you. Thanks for another great week, Alfonso A group of 10 people just finished the expedition to Aconcagua in Argentina. it has been a very extreme experience, due the high winds, could nights, sunny days, lots of hard working days, very high altitude…….. Thanks to Ian Taylor and his crew, who manage it to make everything more pleasant, setting up a good aclimatization program, great dedication, lots of commitment to make every day succeseful. Thanks and lets go for Mont Blanc next July, Alfonso

Australian climber - I climbed with Aconcagua Star in January 2025 and I was able to summit Aconcagua with them. They are truly a first-class team with deep knowledge of the mountain and a fantastic acclimitization and climbing strategy that maximizes the chance of success. I would highly recommend them.

Amazing experience! I have years climbing and these guys are really the best. No one knows Aconcagua like them. The acclimatization process was very good. They dedicate the days you need to make sure you can climb in good conditions. Food, incredible. Better than at home!

Vasco and Pablo helped me to climb the Aconcagua summit and I will always remember and appreciate that. They do care a lot and they will do what they can to make you climb the summit. Great acclimatization tactics and an opportunity to know another mountain - Cordon de Plata where we spent the first part of the expedition. I will remember this time in the Andes while I am alive. I am an outdoor guide from Croatia working in Iceland.

No one can assure you are going to make it to the top of the mountain. But I know for a fact that with Aconcagua Star, your chances are much higher than with anyone else. Why? Because Vasco and his team love their job, simple as that. And besides that they are true mountaineers and know every single aspect of Aconcagua. I had three incredibly intense and wonderful weeks climbing with them, I met fantastic people from all over the world And despite there were tough times, where I thought I wouldn’t make it, Vasco was always there to reassure me and encourage me. I made it to the top, one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Edoardo from Italy

So, you're looking for climbing one of the top of Americas, maybe Aconcagua? Ok, don't be scared, you're in the right place! Vasco and Pablo will be on your side for all the expedition, and not only for guiding you to the summit, but for really enjoying an unforgettable mountains experience in one of the harshest place in South America! Doesn't matter if you're a beginner or an expert mountaineer, choosing Aconcagua Star is worth not only for your money, but for your safety, they really know what to do in every situation up there, and, last but not the least, for their companionship too!

Really people, believe in me: I come from Italy and they helped me in every possible way. From my house to the peak of Aconcagua. Climb this mountain is hard and I'm not a real alpinist as the people I met there. I will never be able to thank Vasco and the others for having been close to me during those difficult weeks. They have been my family and together we have had the adventure of a lifetime. They have been close to me in difficult moments, they have encouraged me and warmed my heart, we have laughed together but, more importantly, they have been tough when it has to be brave. I know they are the best because they brought me, the weakest one, to the top and were able to give up with my other better colleagues. Nobody knows themselves before being there, but Vasco does. No one was ever left behind and even those who didn't reach the top returned home changed. After 8 months I still think about them, every day, the wonderful experience and the wonderful people they are, really. what more can i say? They cook very well but listen to classic rock. Nobody is perfect. Trust me these are the best. Luigi

My name is Daniel Beneyt, I am Argentine and I am 48 years old. Aconcagua to me means much more than a mountain climb. It was one of my life dreams. A year ago we began coordinating the expedition with Aconcagua Star, and it was truly thought of as a project. Absolutely everything has been considered without leaving anything to chance. Planning, technical talks and advice on equipment. The proposed scheme is, in my humble opinion, unbeatable: Acclimatization outside of Aconcagua, in a unique natural and familiar environment. Then yes, concentrate on the objective. We have been able to clean ourselves and feed ourselves without feeling like we were on a high mountain expedition. A true added value is the family atmosphere of Aconcagua Star, which is undoubtedly essential to reaching the objective in peace and harmony. I always recommend you, thank you for joining me in this project. I reached the summit on 01/10/2025 and I will thank you all my life. I'm Uri and I went from Spain. 5 stars seem insufficient to express what I have experienced and felt on this expedition. If you are thinking of exploring mountains in South America or anywhere in the world, Aconcagua Star is the answer. Arkaitz, "the Basque" as everyone knows him, Pablo and the entire team live and feel the mountains 365 days a year, it is their lifestyle and that makes the difference when they lead an expedition. You stop being a client to be a member of an expedition and feel its motto as your own. The motto is "One Team, one Dream". Technically they are excellent and as people I will tell you that they are FAMILY. And when you face a challenge like climbing a mountain above 6000 meters, you want to have with you the best technically and above all PEOPLE, in capital letters, who take care of you, help you and make you feel safe and confident. My experience with them is the best I have had on an expedition. Safety, caring for people, respect for the mountains, knowing how to see the needs of each member of the expedition, shared moments, talks and laughter, planning and caring for food, knowledge, turning a group of people into a cohesive team, an excellent acclimatization plan, personal and group improvement, .... are some of the things that have happened during this incredible expedition. My recommendation: before embarking on any expedition, talk to El Vasco and/or Pablo and see what happens to you and what you feel. I can assure you from my experience with them (and having had other experiences in the same place with other people and companies) that Aconcagua Star makes a big difference compared to everything else.

Look, if you want to climb Aconcagua, there is no better option on the market than this one, because in addition to being the most renowned guides at the moment, they have a shelter called Lá Roca in Cordon Del Plata, where we spent a week adapting to the climb of Aconcagua, which was much less tiring than going straight to Aconcagua because in the shelter, in addition to getting to know other mountains like Cerro Plata, we had a cabin with all the necessary infrastructure. During the week of Aconcagua, the experience of the guides Vasco and Pablo makes the difference because the average summit of the park is 25%, while the average for both of them is 75%. For them, it doesn't matter if it takes 1 more day or not, they will attack the Summit when the group is ready and their dedication to make this happen will not be lacking at any time. I spent 2 weeks with Aconcagua Star, reached the Summit, felt like I was in a family environment and learned a lot. I had a great adventure and made great friends. I highly recommend it.

When we considered traveling to one of the most isolated areas of Argentina to try to climb several six thousand, all we found were difficulties. The distance, the lack of transportation, information, resources, and material weighed too much. But above all, the unknown. However, we were extremely lucky to meet and count on Arkaitz and Pablo, who transformed all those doubts and inconveniences into an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail, the closeness and the knowledge they possess were key to not only achieving our objectives, but also returning home with two great friends in the Andes. If someone is looking for professionalism, experience and long nights full of laughter, Aconcagua Star is the place. There are no better companions to put together a great adventure. Thank you very much for everything! We will return!

I had a terrific trip with Alpenglow to Aconcagua. There was excellent pre-trip communication — very accessible and fast to answer questions. In-country logistics were all on-time and efficient. The group gear is very high quality. The guides - Mike, Carla, and Tico - were world class: very professional, easy going, positive, and excellent climbers. They worked hard to make sure the entire group had a positive experience and kept us all safe. The trip was worth the price and more. I will be climbing again with Alpenglow.

Look no further than Alpenglow-You have found the wizards of the climbing world! While I have only climbed with Zeb (as preparation for Aconcagua and Everest), I have interacted with most of the team on other matters and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They are incredibly well organized, they are incredibly thorough in their training and discipline, they are innovative and are constantly challenging the status-quo to deliver the optimal experience for their clients, and most of all, they make the experience incredibly fun and rewarding. If anyone is looking for a climbing company, these guys are it. No better company out there.
Destino Montana

An incredible experience, with surreal landscapes and the feeling of being closest to the top of the Americas. The road is already sensational and when you arrive in the park you are very impressed with the view to the Aconcagua. The trail to Camp Confluencia has a moderate difficulty, but it is important that the person have physical conditioning to withstand the walk and the effects of altitude. Finally, our guide Tuti was excellent, with a lot of experience on the rise, on the region and on the history of the place. He guided us all the time and was at our pace. Now we want to go back to climb even further.

I can not recommend Destino Montana highly enough. Both Vani and Joaco were great and super accommodating. During my 3 week trip to Argentina, I had a two day stopover in Mendoza. Long before my arrival in Argentina, I had contacted a number of other tour companies to try and arrange the Aconcagua climb. Unfortunately, no company was able to offer the climb during my two day visit. Two days before my arrival in Mendoza, I stumbled across Destino Montana, a family run company out of Mendoza. I contacted Joaco via WhatsApp and to my surprise, he responded immediately (note, this was at 10pm). Initially, he was unable to offer the trip on the only full day I had in Mendoza. However, he promised to contact me if anyone else expressed any interest and sure enough, the next morning whilst waiting in the airport to get my flight to Mendoza, Joaco contacted me to say he had another two people interested in the trip. From then on, Vani kept in close contact, organising transfers to/from my hotel, arranging payment and determining whether I had any food allergies. Everything ran extremely smoothly and was extremely well organised. The scenery is stunning, our lunch and snacks (that poor Vani carried the entire way up) were homemade and very tasty and Vani’s English was impeccable (although I’m sure she’ll deny it). Vani and Joaco, thank you both so much. You very much made my stay in Mendoza unforgettable. A definite highlight of my trip to Argentina :)

Kandoo is very organized and they really treated their porters/team fairly. We were always monitored and checked by our guides and everybody is so knowledgeable. I look forward to Kandoo having a climb in Aconcagua! I highly recommend Kandoo for your adventures! Thanks to Sharon (UK office), the guides: Robert, Erik, Michael, and Jared, and all the support team.
