Best Forbidden peak Climbing Guides 2025

A Fantastic Climb! Blackbird Mountain Guides is outstanding guide company. I had the opportunity to climb with Zeb Blais where we summited (along with two others) Forbidden peak in the North Cascade mountain range in Washington. It was a challenging climb but well worth it. Zeb is a professional. His knowledge and calm demeanor made for a rewarding and memorable experience. One of things I like best about Blackbird is the communication. Zeb emphasized safety, training and having fun. If you’re looking for a solid guide company, look no further. I can’t recommend Zeb and Blackbird highly enough.

I have taken four courses with Zeb Blais / Blackbird Mountain Guides: -AIARE Avi Level 1 -Crevasse Rescue Course -4-day ski-mountaineering course in the Palisades -4-day trad climbing / mountaineering in the north cascade including the north ridge of Forbidden peak. On each occasion, the amount of tangible experiences, pragmatic knowledge and honed skillsets gained has been so comprehensive that I have felt inspired to push for newer and higher objectives. Moreover, these outings have been more than just a place to learn and level up but are epic and unforgettable treks into the backcountry that you don't forget. ...I keep thinking that at some point I'll be able to do all this stuff myself, but when your always looking to up your game and climb higher peaks, these guys know how to push it. Can't recommend enough.

Just got back from a private climb of Forbidden peak, West Ridge with Zeb of Blackbird Mountain Guides. Zeb did an outstanding job. All communications ahead of the climb, including scheduling of dates followed by answers to gear and logistics questions, was prompt and professional. The climb was an amazing experience including the camp views, approach, and summit. Zeb is very instructional and helps you learn as you go in terms of climbing pointers. Lastly, as an additional bonus, Zeb carries a high res camera and takes awesome pictures beyond what a phone can do. Overall, I am very pleased and happy and will be doing additional climbs with Zeb and Blackbird Mountain Guides moving forward.

Not being an experienced rock climber I have to say I was very impressed with my guide Glen. Glen was able to get my rock climbing skill up enough to climb Forbidden peak in only a couple rock climbing sessions and a day of class work. Glen Is truly a great teacher. We successfully climbed Forbidden peak as a group of three. What an amazing experience, beautiful scenery and great company. I really felt safe with Glen leading the group and protecting us. I highly recommend this climb with Miyar as your leader.
