Climbing history of Putha Hiunchuli
The history of Putha Hiunchuli is marked by a series of explorations and attempts that reflect the adventurous spirit of mountaineers. The peak was first successfully summited in 1954 by a team led by the legendary British mountaineer Jimmy Roberts. Their ascent marked a significant achievement in the annals of Himalayan climbing. Subsequent years saw numerous attempts as climbers from around the world were drawn to its challenging slopes.
The region surrounding Putha Hiunchuli is home to the indigenous Thakali people, known for their rich cultural heritage and traditions. Their presence adds a unique cultural dimension to any expedition in this part of the Himalayas.
