My partner and I planned our first climbing trip to Nepal to climb Island Peak and Lobuche East.. We were looking for a company to climb with which was reasonable priced but also with a focus on safety and good climbing support. After searching on google and contacting several Nepalese and International companies we decided to go with Nepal Vision Trecks. When I first contacted Nepal Vision and inquired about the trip, Chett the owner of the company emailed me with a detailed itinerary of a possible trip and after some back and forward via email he called me to discuss the trip in more detail. One of the main things which made us go with Nepal Vision was that Chett focused on climbing safety, explained that this trip is not just some easy walk in the mountains but involves serious climbing and potential dangerous. He also asked us about our previous climbing experience. He did not just try to sell us the tour but informed us well about the trip. This impressed us and we booked the trip. We booked the trip as a group tour but as nobody else joined we ended up getting a private tour for the same price as the group tours, which was really nice. The trip itself was incredible and well organized. Our experienced, knowledgeable and very nice guide Iswor picked us up from Kathmandu Airport and took us to a nice hotel. Before we left for the mountains we had a nice guided tour through the city and a tasty welcome dinner. We flew to Lukla and started our Treck towards our first objective, Island Peak. During the Treck we stayed in local teahouses. The accommodation was basic but clean and the food was usually pretty good. The hike went well and Iswor made sure we spend enough time acclimatizing to the high altitude. Once we got to the last village before Island Peak we met our climbing guide Pemma, a highly experienced guide with multiple Everest ascents as well as other 8000ers. We went on to climb Island Peak, which was a tough but fun challenge and were awarded with amazing views from the top. The climb was very enjoyable and Pemma made sure we were safe during our climb. We then went on to climb Lobuche East, which went also went very well. We had great weather and enjoyed nice close up views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori and Everest Basecamp. Overall it was a great trip and we would very much recommend Nepal Vision Trecks!!!
