We had the best time trekking with the Alpinist Club to EBC. Our guides Subash and Shiva were the chillest, most knowledgeable local guides. We spent our two weeks laughing and learning as we climbed slowly, slowly up to base camp. Subash shared his mountaineering expertise and tales of Everest with us along the way (not many guides on EBC have actually attempted the summit like Subash). Shiva cheered us on, literally caught us if we fell, and made friends with all of the animals along the way. By the end, we had two new friends and memories for a lifetime. If you want to support a local Nepalese business while you trek, choose Alpinist Club!

Thank you Subash and Shiva!! We had the best time as a group of 4 trekking to Everest Base Camp. Subash really knows what he’s doing and makes sure the group is so well cared for. Two of us got sick on day 3 and he took great care of us, and paid attention to our limits. Because of that we were able to still have an amazing trip!! It was also fun and educational to hear about Subash’s other mountaineering trips, including climbing Everest. Subash and Shiva were the nicest, most caring guides and I would absolutely recommend any trek with them. Subash and Shiva, we already miss you both!

Look no further than Alpenglow-You have found the wizards of the climbing world! While I have only climbed with Zeb (as preparation for Aconcagua and Everest), I have interacted with most of the team on other matters and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They are incredibly well organized, they are incredibly thorough in their training and discipline, they are innovative and are constantly challenging the status-quo to deliver the optimal experience for their clients, and most of all, they make the experience incredibly fun and rewarding. If anyone is looking for a climbing company, these guys are it. No better company out there.

Safe summit of Everest for a single mother of two Thank you to Alpenglow and my guide Sid Pattison for an amazing trip to the top of the world! In 30 days door to door, I summited Everest from the north side, skied part of the north Cole and came back home to my two children and work. Efficiency and safety was very important to me and Alpenglow delivered 100%. The company only climbs the North Side (Tibet) to avoid crowds and related hazards. Impeccable logistics, compassionate and inspiring guiding, great staff and strong leadership on the mountain, coupled with Hypoxico-assisted pre acclimatization made this trip a success all around. Thank you Adrian, Sid and the Alpenglow team!

This group was amazing from the first email all the way through our final minute in Nepal. Pasang did a wonderful job planning our trip and adapting to things in the moment (weather can be very unpredictable and getting to Lukla is never guaranteed). We can't believe how much 'behind the scenes' action took place to make sure our trek was uninterrupted. Our guides, Akash (lead guide) and Kumar (assistant guide) made sure we were all safe, warm, well fed and had the best experience we could. We also had 3 porters we rarely saw, but were a life saver carrying some of our extra gear. Five of us went on this trek with varying degrees of hiking experience and they were able to adjust our itinerary to guarantee all of us got to EBC and got to experience parts of Nepal that most people only dream about. We would recommend doing this trek in fall (not spring) to avoid all the climbers and more importantly avoid all the yaks and horses, etc along the trail (lots of animal waste and safety concerns) ferrying supplies. I would 100% recommend this trek (and specifically Highland Expeditions) for anyone wanting to get to Everest Base Camp.

From my first email enquiry to being waved off home at the airport in Kathmandu, the level of service from the team at Highland Expeditions was exceptional. Passang handled my booking and sent a comprehensive guide to the itinerary, kit list etc. On arrival in Khatmandu he gave us a thorough briefing on what to expect on the trek in terms of physically and mentally, safety aspects and what to expect in the accommodation as we went higher. The accommodation was excellent in Kathmandu and lower down on the trek and as briefed, got more basic the higher we went but the food was consistently good throughout. On the trek with our head guide Horizon and his assistant Bhupen we were in great hands. They were professional, knowledgeable and great company. It was clear that our safety and enjoyment were paramount to them. They paced the trek really well to give us the best chance to complete it and were diligent in checking how we were coping with the altitude. They took care of everything for us at the lodges and tea houses. The porters were also helpful, diligent and friendly. The trek itself was incredible, the sheer variety of landscapes as we climbed from verdant to tundra was amazing and seeing the higher peaks in glorious sunshine when we got through the lower cloud base was breathtaking. On day 8, by the itinerary, we were due to reach Base Camp but seeing that we were all strong well and that the weather was clear, Horizon gave us the option to defer going to Base Camp until the next morning and instead to climb Kalapathar for unobstructed views of Everest and the surrounding mountains. What a brilliant idea, the views were spectacular and we got the bonus of going to EBC at 4 am to arrive at sunrise and have the place all to ourselves, a incredible experience. Overall a wonderful trip made possible by Passang, Horizon and the team. I would have no reservations in recommending Highland Expeditions.

There aren't enough words to express how amazing this company and team is! My boyfriend and I recently completed the Sleep at Everest Basecamp Trek, and it was above every expectation we could have had! From airport pick up to airport drop off, and the communication pre arrival - everything was covered so that there was not possible thing to worry or stress about. The communication and preparation in advance of the trip answered all our questions and had us prepared for the trek in every way. We were picked up at the airport, had hotels and teahouses booked the entire trip, and half day tour of Kathmandu, a farewell dinner, and a drop off back to the airport upon departure. We were lucky enough that our trip ended up being private trip with just us, our guide Horizon and porter Bala. I cannot say enough good things about these two men. Horizon was super knowledgeable about the area and trek, he set such a good pace, and daily preparation - we had no health issues, and no concerns throughout the trek. As our guide, Horizon was able to work with us and look out for us in every way - timing our daily schedule to avoid crowds, having our best interest physically and mentally, and teaching us so much along the way! We felt prepared and supported, and even through the challenging sections (because there will be some) we felt safe, secure, and supported! We had an absolute amazing trip and it wouldn't have been the same without him! We consider him a friend and truly enjoyed every moment trekking with him. The teahouses, food, planning, and everything along the trek is already organized and planned - no stress along the way. The all inclusive nature of the trip really allows you to enjoy every moment and the true experience without worrying about small details, paying each meal, booking accommodations, etc. Finally, I cannot say enough about the team at Base Camp itself - if you get the chance to sleep at base camp overnight - DO IT! To sit in the middle of base camp, interact with the team and climbers, and be treated to hot meals and coffee at 5364m - thats a once in a lifetime experience! This industry has become a very commercialized experience, but I will say that I felt extremely prioritized and that our personal experience, safety, and comfort was always top priority. This company is more than just a trekking company - they provide experience, connection, and memories for a lifetime! We feel so lucky to have done this trip with Highland Expeditions! We highly recommend them for all trekking adventures and would love to return for another trip with them!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

We recently completed the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek in Nepal with Highland Expeditions and it was breathtaking - literally and figuratively! The EBC is a challenging adventure but Highland Expeditions maximized our chance of success and enjoyment. The owner, Passang Sherpa, provided excellent pre trip guidance and instruction and responded immediately to questions. From the moment we were greeted with garlands at the Kathmandu airport, we knew we were in good hands. The pre trek stay at the Marriott and the half day sight seeing in Kathmandu allowed us to rest up and introduce ourselves to our new trekking companions/family. The helo flight to Lukla was a mini adventure, but is by far the most reliable way to access the EBC. Our guides, Akash, Kalendar and Jeet were top notch and good natured, adjusting to our quirks with aplomb. The lodging was top end for the EBC (Mountain Home Lodges at Phakding, and Namche Bazaar; Rivendell lodge in Debouche), but the choices at Lobouche and Gorek Shep were necessarily limited. The provided down sleeping bags and parkas were top quality. Electric heating blankets kept us cozy for the first several nights, and hot water bottles were provided for the sleeping bags when electricity was no longer available. Boiled drinking water was provided at every meal so purchasing disposable plastic water bottles was unnecessary. Every day on the EBC is a jaw dropping experience, but our personal highlight was the pre- dawn climb of Kala Patthar (18000 feet elevation) to witness the sunrise over Sagarmatha (Everest). We were very appreciative of the helo trip back to Kathmandu from Gorek Shep; allowing us a bird's eye view of the spectacular 40 mile trail we traverersed over the preceding 8 days. This trip of a lifetime was made possible by Highland Expdenitions' excellent itinerary and supervision. You could not be in better hands. Namaste.

A dream come true, Highland Expeditions is a top-notch, professional outfit who took care of all parts of the trip. THANK YOU PASSANG, AAKASH and MINGMA! We highly recommend Highland. Warning: a long review, but these guys are due all the credit. As a family of four (mom, dad, 13/15 yr old boys) we trekked to Everest Base Camp (EBC) with Highland over an extended Spring Break. We could not have asked for a better experience! From the planning stages, the communication with Passang was top notch. Passang worked with our wishes to stay at nice teahouses (Yeti Mountain Homes!) and had answers to all our questions. When we arrived in Kathmandu airport after 1.5 days of traveling from the US, Highland greeted us with orange marigold flower necklaces and took us to our hotel in a comfortable and nicely kept van. The next day in Kathmandu before the start of our trek, Highland arranged a wonderful lady, Alisha, to take us to two main sites in Kathmandu: Pashupatinath Temple complex by the holy river, and Boudhanath, the large Buddhist stupa. Alisha explained so much to us about the sites, the city, and the Nepali culture – a true learning experience and window int the Nepali history and culture. We concluded with lunch at rooftop restaurant overlooking the stupa. Again, all transportation was included, in a nicely kept van, and always on time. Once you get to Kathmandu, you’ll see how impressive this is. That afternoon back at the hotel, we met our guide, Aakash, and who was most knowledgeable about every aspect of the trip: from safety/ medical issues, to accommodations, to packing, to knowing the daily treks and route elevations, climb/ descent durations and teahouse stops. Highland also brought a duffel bag, down jacket, and down sleeping bag for each of us, so we could repack for the trek that afternoon. To avoid weather delays in getting to Lukla with the fixed wing plane, Highland arranged a helicopter for us to have a much higher certainty of being able to start our trek on time. Early in the morning, Highland picked us up again in the nice van and we were off to the airport. After a brief weather delay, we found ourselves in Lukla, where we met Mingma, our assistant guide, and two porters, made of steel : ) each carrying two of our duffle bags up to the next overnight teahouse faster than we ever could! Our trek began and at all times Aakash and Mingma kept us safe, communicating with us about the trail, sights along the way, things to look out for too. Aakash and Mingma tirelessly made sure we were taking it slow to avoid altitude sickness, and were taken care of at the teahouses, for lunch, dinner, giving information about the menu, best way to get set up with an internet connection, etc. Mingma always had the first aid kid, and at higher altitudes they worked out carrying an oxygen tank in case of emergencies. Every day, Aakash and our family discussed the next day: timing, climbs, harder and easier parts of the trek, and we were always completely prepared for what was coming. Aakash truly cared about our well-being, and adjusted the route to be a little tougher as we had an extra day in Namche, or calmer when we decided to do an easier hike up to Chhukhung for lunch with an amazing view, rather than climb all the way up Nangkartshang peak on our acclimatization day in Dingboche. As we were so well taken care of, we were able to enjoy every aspect of our trek, and as it was just the six of us, our family of four, Aakash and Mingma, we could enjoy scenery and teahouse breaks as much as we liked. We felt good, even when the going got a little tougher, going up Kalapathar. We tried for the afternoon when we arrived in Gorakshep, but there were too many clouds. So, we woke up at 4:30am and set out with our headlamps. To see the mountains at dawn is breathtaking. To see the rising sun illuminate the highest peaks while the rest is still in the shade, is even more breathtaking. To see the sun rise up from behind the peak of mount Everest in the crisp morning sky is a sight you’ll never forget in your life. The climb up Kalapathar, and back down, was tough but Aakash and Mingma helped us, carrying a backpack if needed, always having first aid and oxygen on hand. After an extended breakfast at the Gorakshep teahouse and the best Everest drip coffee you’ve ever tasted : ), we set out to EBC where we’d spend the night. The Highland camp was in the early stages, but impeccable. Well-stocked and organized kitchen tent, and the guys put up nice box tents the day before for us to sleep in. The staff was amazing: cooked us a delicious dinner, while we spoke with the guys about Sherpa school, and having summited Everest with climbers nine times! Again, a top-notch outfit and experience. Equally delicious breakfast the next morning – absolutely incredible views of the Khumbu ice fall and surrounding mountains. Like another planet. To save time (kids back to school!) Highland arranged a helicopter to take us all the way back down to Kathmandu, rather than walking back three days to Lukla, then catching a flight back to Kathmandu. We spent the morning walking around EBC, marveling at the surroundings and how fantastic our trip was. Then over to the helipad (flattened area) for an amazing ride first to Pheriche (two by two) and then to Lukla, and in our case right away all the way back down to Kathmandu. Nice van waiting : ), back to the hotel to a wonderful shower. What an adventure. That evening Passang and Aakash and our family went out for a farewell dinner where we talked about the trip, gave feedback, etc. The next day we visited the ‘monkey temple’ and the Royal Palace, very worthwhile, and Highland took us to the airport in the afternoon for our flights home. We feel our trip couldn’t have been better as Passang, Aakash, and Mingma from Highland took care of everything from the very start and were knowledgeable and professional in all aspects. THANK YOU FOR A DREAM COME TRUE, HIGHLAND EXPEDITIONS!!

Having known the people who started this company long time ago its grown a lot since then and just gets better and better. Myself and a group of friends took the challenge of Everest base camp trek with Island peak climb during Spring 2019. I have personally visited Nepal couple of times before and this time I decided to go big by climbing a 6000m peak. I knew Pasang from before and I knew that he is the man who can pull this together even at a short notice and yet deliver great experience. I got in touch with Pasang and he helped me with all the planning and preparation for the climb. On trek & climb, it was outstanding with all the experiences and services delivered as said. On our return, the weather was not good for the fight to operate so without any further delay, Pasang got us in a helicopter at the same day. Took a while for me to leave a review of our climbing experience but they did a great job John, Rob, Dan, Jeff

I had a wonderful time with Highland Expeditions during my climbing holiday in Nepal. We were 3 of us looking for a peak climbing in Nepal and Highland Expeditions came highly recommended by a friend who did a trek with them previously. After contacting them, Passang (COO of company) replied all our emails promptly and provided in depth information about the climb, which really helped us in preparing for the climb. On trip, everything was well organized, we had the privilege of having Ang Sona Sherpa (Expedition Director & 10 times Everest Summiteer) as our senior guide. All 3 of us managed to climbed Island peak at our first attempt and this was all possible because of their properly planned itinerary, expert guidance, top notch service, amazing sherpa. All 3 of us would highland recommend Highland Expeditions for anyone looking for a trekking and climbing operator in Nepal.

We booked Everest base camp heli trek with Highland Expeditions in late Nov, 2017 and it was an experience of a lifetime. The trek to the base camp of Everest is itself an amazing experience beside we took helicopter flight back to Kathmandu from Pheriche which allowed us to see the mighty mountains from different angle but what made the trek even more amazing is because of our trekking team (Guide Kunga and Kancha) and expertise showed by entire Highland expeditions team. Passang always answered our email promptly and gave us detailed information about trek, and after we landed in Kathmandu, everything was delivered as promised. I would highly recommend Highland Expeditions to anyone looking for trekking and climbing operator in Nepal as you wouldn't find any better than them.

Life Himalaya Trekking Kathmandu Epic Journey to Everest Base Camp in May 2023 892954621 Everest Base Camp Trek a dream come true! The best thing in life is to have a dream and fulfil it! Thank you god for fulfilling this dream of mine with no health issues. Also a big thank you to # LifeHimalayaTrekking to help fulfilling my dream. Also special mention for our Guide #MrBirsha and our Porter #RabinRai for supporting my dream and being a part of it. From the beginning Shiba was very patient & responsive with all our questions and shared the itinerary accordingly. They took care of all the Permits, arrangements of Tea houses, supplied sleeping bags, Duffel bags etc during the trip. After lot of discussion, me and my friend from Toronto (Romi) finally booked for our dream. We reached Katmandu on Mon May 15 eve and were really excited to start our journey next day. We started our trek on - Day 1 - Lukla to Phaakding. Reached Lukla airport at 6AM and waited till 2PM to learn that all flights from Lukla has been Cancelled due to bad weather. Our guide immediately recommended us to hire a Helicopter, we were lucky to get one and reached Lukla around 3PM. Immediately on reaching we started Trekking and reached Phaakding around 7PM. Day 2 - Phaakding to Namche Bazaar. 7AM we had our breakfast and started 12KM trek to Namche Bazaar, we reached Namche around 3PM and was one of the most challenging trek. Day 3 - Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar* . Visited Sherpa Museum and Sagar Matha National Park Museum. Day 4 - Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, Deboche , This was another challenging 11KM trek that was very scenic as we could see all the big 7000M+ peaks like Mt Everest, Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. With the help of our porter & guide, we were very fortunate to spot Himalayan Musk Deer, Mountain Goats & Eagles on the way. The Tengboche Gompa Monastry is very beautiful and was mesmerizing as it was surrounded by these snow capped mountains. We were surprised to get electric blankets at Deboche for the night...yeah. Day 5 - Deboche to Dingboche This was a moderate 5-6 hrs of trek at 4000m+ elevation. Day 6 - Dingboche to Lobuche,* We trekked around 6-7 hours (around 7KM). from here we could see the whole Khumbu glacier. We also saw lots of Yaks amd visited collection of Memorials to Climbers who have died in the Everest region. Day 7 - Lobuche to Gorakshep to Everest Base camp.* We checked the weather and it was forecasted to be cloudy after 2PM. We didn't want the weather to play a spoil sport hence we started early around 6:30AM. This was a big day for us as we trekked almost a total of 15KM from Lobuche to Gorakshep.to EBC. First we trekked to Gorakshep at 5000M elevation, had lunch and then continued the Trek to EBC and reached around 1:30PM. We were completely exhausted, spent around 30mins in clicking pictures and enjoying the view. The weather turned cloudy & hazy and the plan to trek Kala Pathar was cancelled. With our guides recommendation we immediately arranged for a Heli ride from a private helipad (which was 1.5 KM ahead of EBC), on the way we saw various expedition camps like NimsDai, etc on Khumbu glacier that were set up for climbing Mt Everest. We headed back to Lukla via Helicopter. Day 8 - Lukla to Katmandu Next morning 7AM we reached Lukla airport and took a small 15 seater plane to Katmandu, we were very lucky to fly from Lukla as all planes after us were delayed and cancelled due to weather. This 8 day trek in spite of being mentally, physically challenging, strenuous, it was one of the most beautiful, mesmerizing and truly the most memorable and rewarding trips of our lives. In Heaven for 8 days. Along the way we met lots of people from across the globe whether it’s from India, Singapore, USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, Middle East and from Nepal. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend #Shiba our trip organizer from life Himalaya Trekking company, who have meticulously planned our trip that was well executed. Whoever is interested in exploring the mountain peaks please get in touch with Life Himalaya Trekking. https://lifehimalayatrekking.com/7-days-Everest-base-camp-trek.html

We booked a double tour with Life Himalaya of Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit--both treks were great. Kieron, our guide for both treks, was responsible, flexible and attentive, and was able to make adjustments on the go. Roads have been built along much of the traditional Annapurna Trek, so we probably would have preferred to bypass some of the beginning, and do more side excursions along the way. We did do a couple of side excursions on the way to Everest Base Camp, including visiting Khumjung Monastery and climbing Kala Patthar for the best view of Everest. The helicopter ride out allowed us to see more of Nepal in the 3 weeks we had available. We can recommend Life Himalaya highly

Trip of a lifetime! We contacted Shiba at Life Himalaya Trekking to arrange a scenic helicopter tour having recently climbed a type of Everest overcoming cancer and wanting to symbolically see the view! Shiba worked with us to create an itinerary that incorporated what we wanted to see with a price that was very fair. From hotel and tour recommendations to how to best prepare and enjoy our trip, Shiba was very responsive, informative and accommodating from first inquiry to booking to arrival and departure. Our initial flight into Kathmandu experienced some delays, and Shiba's team waited to make sure we were greeted upon arrival and transported to our hotel where Shiba later met with us personally to discuss last details of our tour. We were really impressed at his personal involvement in all aspects of our experience. We were also very impressed with his breadth of firsthand knowledge and connections in the area to assure a safe and second to none experience. Weather delayed the last leg of our tour and Shiba was very proactive in keeping us informed, knowing our tighter schedule and made finding successful solution his top priority. His attention to detail and treating us with care was tangible. We truly felt he treated us as if we were his own family taking the tour - that level of interaction and commitment. We strongly recommend Life Himalaya Trekking - Thank you Shiba and Team!

I recently visited Everest Base Camp (EBC) and it was all credit to the Life Himalaya Trekking company. The proprietor of the company, Shiba, is very knowledgeable and humble and provided me with all the information before I booked my trip. After I landed in Kathmandu, I was received by my Guide, Birsha and who took me to my hotel where I spent a night before embarking on the trek. The next morning we took an early morning flight to Lukla which is the starting point for the track. After 25 minutes of flight, we landed at Lukla Airport where I met my porter, Robin. During the trek, we stayed in tea houses which are very basic hotels with dining facility. All teahouses had a common dining room where you would spend time in evening with other trackers around a wood stove or electric heater. First 3 nights we had an attached bathroom but after that all teahouses had common bathroom facility. My guide Birsha was a very soft spoken, helpful, knowledgeable and experienced about the trek. When I was at my weakest during the day on a hard climb, he would be standing right behind me where I could feel his hand on my back, making sure that I don’t tumble down the cliff. He would make sure I had enough water for the track. He would suggest the food for lunches & dinner that would be best for the track. He would bring the food & drinks to me and eat after I had my meal, a tradition in Nepal that you are suppose to eat after your guests. Basically, he would take care of all my needs to make me as comfortable as he can during the track. While mentioning Birsha, I cannot forget my porter Robin, who was a young lad with a smile on his face all the time and reached the daily destination in half the time then me, making sure that we have accommodations for the night. I loved the overall EBC experience with Life Himalaya Trekking and have made lifetime memories and lifelong friends.

As a first time trekker in Nepal, I cannot speak more highly of the service my friends and I received from Nepal Pyramids Trekking & Climbing. We did the 12 days Everest Panorama tour in December 2018, and our guide Aakash was excellent. With over 16 years of experience under his belt, he was caring, funny and a true professional. He and the company as a whole met and exceeded any expectations that we had going to Nepal for the first time. And as a local company, they ensured that we used smaller, family run tea houses for our meals and overnight stays and spread the money throughout the economy, something that we really appreciated. Towards the end of our tour, we were already planning our next trip to the Gokyo Lakes and are looking forward to our next trip with them. We really can't rate these guys highly enough.

Karma Sherpa is the owner. He was raised in a small village in the Everest region. I use Higher Path every time I come to Nepal for trekking. He always provides me with excellent service and fantastic guides/porters for my trek. Most recently, i did the trek to Gokyo and had Sonam Sherpa as my guide. he was beyond excellent..very caring and a wonderful disposition and very focused on safely. I have used Karma now for probably 5 or 6 treks and always the guides and porters have been great. In addition, Karma plans the entire trip including time in KTM etc so you don't have to do anything except show up and then enjoy the amazing scenery. Karma is a certified mountain guide and climbing expert so he leads many mountain ascents. I HIGHLY recommend Karma and his company Higher Path.

Hello Everyone, I just completed an expedition to Meera Peak 6470m with higher path Treks lead by Karma Sherpa. I can’t recommend enough Karma Sherpa for the experience I had. He is a climbing and trekking guide. This was my second 6000 m + expedition after Aconcagua. Karma Sherpa definitely has really good leadership, guiding and explaining about the dangers during the expedition, good sense of getting out of bad weather situation( had bad weather on the Sumit day and after completing summit on the way back to Khare), he made my summit look so simple and easy despite of really bad weather. Karma Sherpa has climbed 5 times 8000 m mountains inc Everest and many many times to Meera and other 6&7000 m, so I knew I was going with the best. I got his number from one of the sub groups on face book and tried to contact him for Meera peak. Meera peak is not too much but a little technical, so he trained and refreshed my knowledge on the rest day. He was flexible with my itenary as I changed it due to less days in hand. He asked me for my experience and the fitness level before changing the itenary. I did this expedition in 11 days where the itenary usually is for 14 days because of the acclimatisation. I didn’t have any acclimatisation issues nor I took Diamox. He checked my oxygen saturation at Khare 5000m before the start to high camp. I actually got a really good guest house in KTM and really nice family run lodges where they treated me like their own. I had the best food where my nutrition was not compromised. My flight was delayed in KTM where I had already checked out if the hotel. Karma Sherpa invited me to his house, where his beautiful wife fed me amazing dal Bhat for me. He introduced me to his kids and whole family, he organised a hike for me to Tarebir which is a training ground for athletes in KTM. It was a beautiful hike and I would consider lucky for my flight to get delayed for the experience I had. My Porter Pasang was 20 years old kid who was selected by Karma Sherpa and that was his second Porter job and straight to high camp. I was really impressed with that kid. He was confident, faster than me, knew the technicalities of the trek, very comfortable with double boots and crampons, mountain climbing etc. He was carrying my gear and also Sherpa’s weight all together about 30kg’s for all the days. He was trained by Karma Sherpa. I’m really looking forward to another expedition soon with karma Sherpa.

I've been trekking and climbing with Karma Gelyjen Sherpa and the team of Higher Path Treks since before the company was founded. I cannot recommend a better company to travel with in Nepal. I've been to Langtang, Everest, and Makalu-Barun region on eight expeditions and trekking trips with this crew, and I have never been disappointed. Karma is one of the most honest and kind-hearted people you are likely to meet anywhere in the world, and his staff are exceptional. The company works with a US-based NGO called Karma Project that helps direct funds from tourism into local projects and services. This company treats its staff exceptionally well, treats the communities it works in exceptionally well, and treats you exceptionally well. These folks are my second family.

I have known Karma Sherpa for almost 6 years and have used his company and staff for 5 treks in the Everest region. They are very professional, great attention to detail and very sincere and caring for their client's well being and also for maintaining the environment in the region. Higher Paths benefits local guides and porters as well as benefitting the local lodges and shops in the region. Karma has a separate foundation which aims to improve the life of his home village not far from Lukla. There are also excellent homestays in his village if that is of interest. I can very highly recommend Higher Paths Treks for trekking or climbing and can assure you that you will be very pleased with their service. Namaste

My Everest Base Camp trek was a journey of self-discovery as much as physical challenge. Namaraj, our guide, brought the mountains alive with his playful spirit and endless jokes. His laughter echoed through the valleys, diffusing tension and keeping us lighthearted even on tough climbs. But his deeper wisdom shone through in quiet moments, sharing local legends and philosophies that encouraged introspection. Padam, our porter, embodied quiet strength. With a serene smile and gentle gestures, he anticipated our needs before we even expressed them. His unobtrusive support created a space for inner peace, allowing us to fully connect with the breathtaking landscape. Together, Namaraj and Padam guided me not just to Base Camp, but also to a deeper understanding of myself.

I did the Everest base camp trek with the guide BK. With Himalayan Scenery Treks and BK as my guide I had a great experience that I will never forgot. The service was great and BK always was making me feel comfortable and as a friend. BK also went above and beyond by telling me of an opportunity to climb Lobuche Peak because he knew I had an interest in climbing. BK was able to organize the whole climb and I am very grateful for that experience. Himalayan Scenery Treks also did a great job at organizing the trip and allowing me to change my schedule a little bit as well. Also we stayed at some really great hotels with very good service one of which was Arushi boutique hotel the owner is Ramkrishna!

This company has gone from strength to strength in the past three years. Trustworthy with no hidden costs, Ram, Santhos and the team will arrange your Himalayan trip of a lifetime down to the finest detail. Be it a standard trip to EBC or a bespoke attempt to summit a high peak, these guys have the trekking and climbing guides to help you achieve your goal in style. This year I completed the three high passes and climbed Island Peak. My trekking guide was Bhakta Magar who is the most professional, helpful, friendly and caring man I have met, nothing is too much. If you want the best guide when trekking, ask for Bhakta Magar. My climbing guide was Rajish, who has climbed Everest, he guided me to the top of the challenging Island Peak with minimum fuss and tremendous skill. If you make sure you tell these guys exactly what you want, you will not find a better or cheaper way to do it. Without doubt 5 stars.

My friend and I recently trekked to Everest base camp with this company, led by our excellent guide Narayan and we found the whole experience unforgettable. Lucky with the weather we flew into Lukla and began our trek, Narayan proved to be a credit and great asset to the company with his knowledge of the area, attention to detail, the safety and health of all off us (6) in the party and led us through the most awe inspiring scenery en route to base camp as well as the peak we climbed. Two porters Norrish and Modern made up our small group of nine in total and our last night celebrations showed how we’d all bonded during the trek. Many thanks to all, a great company I couldn’t recommend high enough.

I have recently returned from an amazing holiday (October 2017) in Nepal with Himalayan Scenery and Trek, which included a 2-day rafting experience and a 15 day trek to the Nepalese Everest Base Camp. It was without doubt one of the best places I’ve ever visited for a whole host of reasons, none more so than the expert organisation and guiding that my fellow trekkers and I received. I travelled with 2 friends and ended up in a group of 12 during the Base Camp trek. The rafting was done on the Trisuli River, which threw up some fun and wild rapids and imprinted a permanent smile on everyone, both in and out of the raft. Our guides were great and the scenery was like something out of Indiana Jones (as is the whole country really). We stayed at a great overnight camping spot beside the river and were entertained with cultural dances in the evening, following a tasty BBQ. The trek itself was absolutely incredible. Although it’s stated as 15 days, that includes 2 experience days in Kathmandu and 2 acclimatisation days on the way up. Kathmandu itself is a pretty crazy place and reminded me a lot of Bangkok with manic traffic, endless noise and strange smells, but that was offset by a city of ambient colour with friendly people, lovely food, beautiful temples and fascinating markets selling all and sundry. Our trek began after a heartbeat-raising flight into Lukla, flying mere metres over mountaintops in a tiny prop plane before arriving on a short, angled landing strip that certainly puts a smile on your face. We were introduced to our amazing guide, NARAYAN, who was 100% the best thing about the whole trip. Not only did he have a vast knowledge about the area, having been a porter and a guide for most of his working life, he also spoke superb English and was also hugely entertaining, never failing to make us laugh. He was helped by another guide – Gobinda – who was also great to have around and very hard working. Completing the package were our team of porters – about half a dozen of them, who we saw carrying three or four of our massive rucksacks each, every day, covering the same distance we did… inspirational and certainly a sight to see. The epic scenery we encountered will forever be ingrained in our memories. In a matter of days (or a single day if walking back down) you can go from forest to grassland to shrubland to snow-capped mountains. We really lucked out on the weather with blue skies and sunshine the whole time. Every time we looked up it was a perfect photo opportunity. After a while we realised that most of the evening was spent deleting duplicate photos we had taken ourselves but it was hard not to resist the temptation of such beauty. Along the way we encountered all manner of mules, yaks, dogs, and monks. I even ended up playing football with them and scored my highest ever goal. We all thoroughly enjoyed having a kick about, after which we followed them into the monastery in Tengboche to watch them pray. The Base Camp route was certainly a busy one, with occasional waiting to allow the non-motorised traffic to pass. The temperature was surprisingly warm for the majority of time we were there, having stayed in shorts and t-shirt for the first 4 or 5 days trekking. Items I would definitely recommend bringing are: lip salve, decent sun cream, Vaseline, solar charging power cells, purification tablets (or flasks with purification stick), a buff/face mask, $40 for entry visa and at least £500 - £650 equivalent to change into Nepalese rupees, a camera or decent camera phone and a positive attitude! Some people chose to take anti-altitude sickness tablets, Diamox. I chose not to and the only occasions I suffered were overnight where I had trouble sleeping and experienced painful headaches. This happened on maybe 2 or 3 nights but nothing a couple of painkiller didn’t sort out. Some people also swore by using poles – particularly going downhill, these were of paramount importance for certain people. Being a fit 37 year old I didn’t bring any poles (perhaps naively) although if I were to go again I would still leave them behind, but anyone with knee problems should definitely bring them. In terms of strenuous activity there were times it was pretty hard going, particularly the 4am start to ascend Kalapatthar (which was totally worth it), but every step is leading you towards your goal and you only need to look up at the scenery to be energised enough to keep going. In our party we had 3 people over the age of 60 and aside from one or two of the steeper sections (which were voluntary) they made it up and down successfully. Some of the lower altitude paths are quite dusty and with the dust being kicked up by yaks and trekkers it does tend to hang in the air and get into your lungs. Quite a few people wore covers/buffs over their mouths, but breathing in the heat or while going uphill might have been uncomfortable for them. One of the finest moments was, of course, our first sighting of Everest – there ended up being plenty of opportunity to see Chomolungma and it never failed to hit us with raw amazement in abundance. The best viewing was from the top of Kalapatthar and we even spotted a few mountain climbers on one or two of the other 7,000m+ nearby peaks. My friends and I are now considering coming back in 2 or 3 years to conquer a 6,000m+ peak ourselves. All in all it was an absolutely fantastic and totally unforgettable experience that I’d recommend to anyone. Himalayan Scenery and Trek were a great company to go with and if you can ask for Narayan as your guide you certainly won’t be disappointed. And don’t forget to please, PLEASE, remember to tip the guides and porters healthily. They can only work six months of the year and this is their living after all. A massive thank you to Ramkrishna, who helped organise it all, and to everyone else at Himalayan Scenery and Trek. To anyone who ventures out there, have a brilliant time collecting some amazing memories!

Thank you very much to Mr. Ramakrishna, who organized very well for my Trekking to Mt. Everest Basecamp. (Start Date 2nd Nov 12 from Ktm-Lukla Airport - End date 09th Nov 12 back Lukla Airport).. I also thank Mr. Rama Karki(a good Friend, more than a Guide), who supported, guided, been together baring my tortures through out the trek. This firm has got very good personal contacts throughout the trek route which is the Plus point and tried their best to keep me comfortable as much as they can do, all around. Last year HSTE arranged my 5 days trip to Pokhara and Chitwan Forest, which was very satisfying, and again this year HSTE fullfilled by organising Trekking to " My dream destination...BaseCamp Mt. Everest ". Actually this trek is scheduled for 13-14 days, but with the help of Mr. Rama Karki, I could cover within 8 days, and thats the acheivement.. Wish to Climb some Mountain in the near future,, and Iam Sure Mr. Ramakrishna and his Team will fullfill accordingly,,,Thank you once again.. Namasthe Nepal..Namasthe HSTE.....All the BEST !!!!
